How to get selected UITextField value using userdefaults in ios

I am trying to get the selected value of a UITextField when the button is pressed,
here’s the code I am using :

The problem is that, I get the selected textField’s text in the string as this is the data that is stored in userDefaults, not the selected text in the textField.
So, how do I get the selected text in the textField?
