“Ketogenic (Keto) Diet ” is a new health trend these days. Everyone has heard about keto diet but “Is keto diet actually good for you”?. To answer this question, I first started looking into what actually is Ketogenic Diet and how does it help loose weight ?

What is Keto Diet and how it works?

Keto Diet is a very low carbohydrate, moderate protein and high fat diet.

So with keto diet you will be eating much more fat and very low carbohydrate. Your body usually breaks carbs into glucose which is utilized by your body organs and cells. In the absence of carbs your liver start utilizing fat and convert it into ketones which are metabolic byproducts and fuel your body. Your body thus goes into metabolic state of ketosis. (1)
